Lego Robotics Challenge
LEGO Robotics Challenge is BGC's in-house introduction to competitive robotics. Students are provided with a collection of missions, and develop an autonomous LEGO robot which to achieve as many as possible. Instructors provide lessons and direct support to students throught the process, teaching them how to design, build, and program their robots to achieve their goals.
While past experience helps in getting started and competition results, no experience is necessary. Anyone who wants to start building robots can join. The most important thing is a desired to learn.

Familiar SPIKE Prime System
The LEGO Robotics Challenge uses the same SPIKE kits as our other programs
Students are likely already familiar with tools and how to use them, so can jump right in
Advanced Concepts
LRC students get exposed to more advanced concepts like gyroscopes
These concepts unlock more capabilities of the SPIKE system, and tie into the future competitive programs
Strategic Design
Teams are presented with many missions, each having their own point values. Every team chooses their own strategy based on the missions points and difficulty. They could try a single, high-value hard mission or sweep up all the simpler low-value missions.
Teamwork
Students work with the same team from start to finish, giving them a chance to see a project through in a team environment.
Friends who are in the program together are welcome form their own groups
Season Timeline
LEGO Robotics challenge runs as a standard fall program, with the 10 sessions between September and December.
Competition
At the end of the program, we'll hold a small in-house comeptition using the missions the students have been building towards all season. This give students a chance to showcase their robots and provides some competitive incentive to build the best robots they can.
Join A Team!
Our LEGO Robotics program is broken into a number of teams. Teams may be formed by students if they have friends in the program, and are formed by our instructors if not.
